A Tribe Called Quest frontman, Q-Tip, has reportedly nabbed democratic presidential candidate, Barack Obama, for his upcoming solo album, The Renaissance.

According to a report from the New York Post’s Page Six, the rapper says the appearance will be the biggest on the album, which also features guests such as Norah Jones and Spike Lee.

“I’ve got Norah Jones on there, but Barack is the big one,” Tip told the paper. “You’ll see what happens, I can’t reveal too much.”

The new album will be Q-Tip’s first since 1999’s Amplified, which peaked at no. 28 at on the Billboard 200 and featured the hit single “Vibrant Thing.”

Since then, his sophomore effort, which was due in 2002, was shelved by his label.

Q-Tip joins a host of celebs who have publicly showed their support for Obama — most recently Russell Simmons and Jay-Z. Barack is apparantly going to speak through a song, perhaps in the way the Archbishop Don Magic Juan speaks through Snoop Dogg songs.
