David Stern finally made up his mind! Chris Paul is plucked from the league owned New Orleans Hornets to go to the Los Angeles Clippers. Clippers oddly enough play in the same gym and share two preseason games with the Lakers. This match-up is going to determine who the better team in Los Angeles will end up being come playoff time.

CP needed this team because it gives him an opportunity to shine as well as pairing him up with dunk-crazed and Kia sponsored Blake Griffin. Clippers ship over point guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman, and forward Al-Farouq Aminu down to New Orleans. With that being said, they would get Minnesota’s unprotected 2012 first round pick. Claiming that this hallmark trade is the best move for New Orleans, will it prove to be effective in the regular season?

According to ESPN.com, “I knew we were doing the best thing for New Orleans and that was my job,” Stern said. “You have to stick with what you think was right. I must confess it wasn’t a lot of fun, but I don’t get paid to have fun.” Others didn’t expect the deal to go through. “I didn’t know it was going to happen. I was told yesterday that it wasn’t going to be done,” Kaman told ESPNLosAngeles.com. “Everybody thought it was nixed, that it was dead. Then I guess something came back up today. For others the deal was less surprising and more disappointing and misleading. According to NBA.com, Gordon was on a bus with Clippers season ticket holders, making fan stops when he got word of the trade. He says, “People in the organization were telling me I was going to probably stay here, stick around,” he said. “But you don’t know who to trust or follow, give you a lead on anything. I’m just going to take it for how it is. It is kind of tough to swallow, but I’m just a basketball player. I’m not going to have any hard feelings about it.”

Last time the supposedly dead deal was broadcasted made the bones of a fan shiver. Waking up this morning to a final decision over CP will give fans the reassurance he might take the Clippers to their first playoff.
