Joe-Paterno1 Penn State's Joe Paterno finally set to retire

Well by now most of us have heard about this scandal going on at Penn State with former assistant coach Sandusky. Its truly a shame that a legendary coach like Joe Pa has to end his career like this. Joe Pa has been a member of the PSU coaching staff for 62 years and head coach for more than 40 of those 62. Joe has coached two national championship teams (1982 & 1986) and is college footballs most winningest coach in division 1 football history. These rumors however, are sure to tarnish those accomplishments just a little bit. The Associated Press reported this morning about the coaches plan to retire at the end of the season. They also stated that Joe Pa may be asked to step down immediately. In a statement from ESPN.com Joe says, “With the benefit of hindsight, I wish I had done more.” Many people agree that Paterno had a moral obligation to do more with the knowledge he had. It seems from that last quote that he now realizes he should have as well. All parties involved should be ashamed of themselves for not doing more about this and now the prestige name of Penn State will undoubtedly be tarnished.
