Tonight the city of Brotherly Love welcomes national league foes the San Francisco Giants to Citizens Bank Park for a mid-season rematch of last October’s NLCS against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Tonight’s match- up will be a pitching duel between Giants pitcher Barry Zito and the Phillies fearless rookie pitcher Vance Worley who is 4-0 in his last five starts with a 0.81 ERA. Giants all-star Tim Lincecum was scratched as the starter due to a stomach flu.
The Phillies currently have the record in baseball winning their last nine series and owning a record of 64-37. This should be a phenomenal three game series and certainly a wonderful match of wits as Phillies manager Charlie Manuel and Giants manager Bruce Bochy face off.
