Chiddy Bang is an American alternative hip hop band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group consists of Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege and Noah “Xaphoon Jones” Beresin. The duo met in late 2008 during their freshman year at Drexel University, in Noah’s hometown of Philadelphia, PA. Their sound is based on the fusion of hip hop and alternative.
On April 28th, 2011, Chiddy broke the world record for the longest freestyle, beating the previous record of 9 hours and 15 minutes and 15 seconds. He finished the freestyle at a new record of 9 hours, 18 minutes, and 22 seconds, supported by looped beats played by Xaphoon. The record attempt was streamed live at MTV.com. On completion, the duo debuted their new single, “Mind Your Manners”, which was announced as the first single off of their upcoming debut album, Breakfast.
