9182144 Cam Newton: The King of the Jungle

If you ask me simply stating that Cameron Jerrell Newton is a Rare talent is discrediting this young mans very impressive body of work. Over the last 60 years no one had won a National Championship, won the most prestigious Colleage award by earning the Heisman Trophy and been Selected as the Overall first pick in the NFL draft until that Thursday evening when Newton was selected number one by the Carolina Panthers.

It’s no secret that Cam has been on Sports more talked about athletes over the last year. After Leaving the University of Florida and enrolling in Blinn College ( the junior college cam also lead to a national junior college championship) Auburn University Football Head Coach Gene Chizik recruited Newton to return to D-1 sports and the two never looked back.

Newton was a starter from the beginning of the Tigers season. He started the year with a Victory against Arkansas State accounting for 5 touchdowns and over 350 yards. He gave the SEC a encore three weeks later against the South Carolina Gamecocks again accounting for 5 touchdowns and over 330 total yards. Newton then began to rise many eyebrows and he legend was quickly forming.

Newton’s best performance was in the SEC championship game against the Gamecocks in a rematch of a SEC battle that took place 2 months prior. Newton scored a Career best 6 TDs ( 4 passing 2 rushing) defeating South Carolina 56-17 earning a trip to Auburn’s first National Title game. Auburn would face the Oregon Ducks and beat them 60-55 in a old fashion shoot out and afterward Cam decided to forgo his Senior year and enter the 2011 NFL Draft

After Cam’s decision so called NFL experts began analyzing Cam’s body of work and focused in my opinion way more on his flaws then the Gifts and abilities he would bring to any NFL team. Can he pass? Does he run too much? Will he have off the field issues? Come on. How can they be for real? Did they not watch the games I saw? Do Blinn College or Auburn have loses with Newton has their Quarterback respectively? NO. One of the biggest concerns happen to be Cam’s throwing ability so he begin working out with Training George Whitfield Jr. Whitfield has also worked with Quarterbacks Akili Smith and  two time Super Bowl Champ Ben Roethlisberger.

Now that Cam has been selected he realizes the world will be watching to see if he can Succeed or if he was fail and many would love to see. I don’t see Cam being anything short of Great as he moves on to this next chapter in his Career. His performance last night against the New England Patriots proves that Cam is ready to add his name to the list of elite NFL quarterbacks. We mention RG3, Russell Wilson and the new age QB’s I believe it is time for us to get Cam his just do.
