The Black Power Mixtape (1967-1975) (Video)

It’s Black History Month so I decided to share one of my absolute favorite documentaries of all time. The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975 is a film by Swedish film makers about the evolution of the Black Power movement and African Americans in the diaspora. It features commentary from Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli, & Questlove. It also features some of my favorite leading black activists, scholars, and artists including Kwame Ture (Stokely Carmichael), Bobby Seale (co-founder of the Black Panther Party), Huey P. Newtown (co-founder of the Black Panther party), Angela Davis (activist, & author) and many more.

This documentary is really amazing. I’ve watched it a dozen times. & Its Black History Month so you should definitely find time to watch.
