Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith announced SZA’s debut album from the TDE label would be coming soon. Stated in a tweet yesterday, the manager stataed:
“New music and album from beautiful @justsza coming soon.1st 2hrs of this flight all sza music.. Her beautiful voice will help me relax #TDE,”
In January, Top Dawg said the TDE label would be releasing a total of six albums in 2014.
“WE RAN 2013 WITH OUT DROPPING 1 ALBUM. I WONDER WUTS GONE HAPPEN IN 2014 WHEN I DROP 6.. THEY NOT READY 4 THIS #TDE #HiiiPoWeR TAKE OVER,”
SZA’s signing with TDE was announced August 2013. At the time, SZA spoke about her influences.
“I was raised on a lot of John Coltrane, Satchmo, Miles Davis, Billy Holiday, and Björk with an adult obsession of all things Wu-Tang,” SZA said. “The one thing I’ve always admired is their ability to paint scenes with their sounds. When I write I usually let the beat saturate my mood and head space; that determines every scene and set design for any song, the rest is all secondary.”
