Talk about a huge blow just days before the 2014 NFL season kicks off. The NFL has suspended Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker has been suspended for the first four games of the NFL season for taking the drug Molly. Welker has publicly acknowledged that in no way did he take the drug knowingly and that he would never take any drug to gain an advantage against opponents.

Welker’s four game suspension comes just days before his Denver Broncos kickoff the season against Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts. According to USA Today, Welker appealed the penalty two weeks ago but it was rejected by the league. Welker will be eligible to return to the Broncos line up for their Week 6 game against the New York Jets.
