The 2014 NBA free agency period is now underway and not even three hours into the first of July we have the first big move. Cleveland Cavs all-star point guard Kyrie Irving will be staying put. Despite the rumors of Uncle Drew wanted out of Cleveland, Kyrie Irving has agreed to a 5 year, $90 Million dollar extension to remain in Ohio.

This is great news for Cavs fans who still remember Lebron James’ decision back in 2010. With the Cavs also recently taking Kansas Jayhawk star Andrew Wiggins with the first pick in the 2014 NBA draft, Cleveland is clearly building for the future. With Kyrie’s new deal, he wil be a Cavs though the 2019-20 season.
