Trenton, NJ hip-hop artist Johnny Quest continues to fight against the norm, using his east coast hip hop storytelling skills and smooth west coast cadence to gather a introspective listener all while entertaining. After the success of his debut single “Interstate”, Quest follows up with “Rebelz N The Hood”, the title track from his debut EP. “Rebelz”, a smooth track that vividly paints the different life experiences of young black males in the urban community. Produced by Inflicta, the song pays homage to the 1991 John Singleton classic “Boyz N The Hood” among other important Black film features of the late 20th century. The rapper gives you all you need to know, delivering both an important message and a soundtrack to the plight of our youth.
