Recently HHS1987 sat down with Atlanta native, female MC Princess to catch up with her and find out what she has been working on. Famous for helping Atlanta music come to the forefront with the group Crime Mob, Princess spoke on her past, possibly reuniting with Crime Mob and more.
As Princess puts the finishing touches on upcoming EP ‘Southern Comfort’, Princess discussed her new music and what can expect. Fresh off of touring in Germany, Princess discussed her new project and why she felt it was time to release something new. Speaking on all the female talent who come to Atlanta to get their break, Princess spoke on why it’s time for a female who is a native of Atlanta to receive the spotlight. Working with Grammy winning producer Blac Elvis, Princess discussed her growth as an artist and how Blac Elvis’ sound along with her lyrics and style is a win-win.
Not only is Princess returning to the mic, she is also taking off as a entrepreneur. Princess is currently working on a hair line “Expression Locs” with her partner Ryan G. Princess explained that “Expression Locs” are dear to her heart and that she plans to teach the young generation to embrace their culture and not look to fit in with weaves and European hair styles.
Princess also opened up with us about Crime Mob and the chances of a possible reunion. After eight years of court battles, Princess spoke on just recently getting paid for all their work. Princess explained Crime Mob’s road to success and also gave us an inside look on the negative side of the industry when your fighting for publishing rights and other things.
Princess concluded her interview by ensuring us that she is ready to shut the stage down when she performs on our HHS1987 stage in Austin, TX on March 21st. As Princess prepares to release her project ‘Southern Comfort’ and her new single “Preacher Man”, 2015 is set to be a huge year for Princess.
