August 22, 2016 0

MTV just announced today that platinum-selling Atlanta rapper Future will perform at the 2016 “MTV Video Music Awards”. The performance will mark Future’s first appearance on the VMA stage.

MTV made the announcement with the following video that was custom-created by director Tom Gould: here (embed below). The video will also be featured in the VMAs ad campaign, “Canvas”.  As performers are added to the VMAs lineup, each will select a Pantone color (Future’s is red) and create a 30-second creative spot that will be incorporated into the larger campaign. The result will be a highly-personal, artist-driven campaign.

Future joins previously announced performers Britney Spears featuring G-Eazy, Nick Jonas featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Video Vanguard recipient Rihanna.

The 2016 “MTV Video Music Awards” will air LIVE from New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday, August 28 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Stay tuned to HHS1987 for all your new music. Follow @eldorado2452 on Twitter and Instagram for all your music and entertainment news.
