Are you ready for the 2016-17 NBA season? The National Basketball Association today released the 2016-17 regular season schedule and announced the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club will begin the season at Philips Arena, playing host to Southeast Division rival Washington on Thursday, Oct. 27th (7:30 p.m.). After visiting Philadelphia on Saturday, Oct. 29th, the Hawks will return to Atlanta to take on the Sacramento Kings on Halloween, Monday, Oct. 31st and the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, Nov. 2nd.

All of Atlanta’s Monday-through-Thursday home games this season will feature 7:30 p.m. tip times, with Friday home games starting at 8 p.m.Saturday and Sunday game times will vary.

All games will air on the Hawks’ flagship radio station, CBS RADIO’S SportsRadio 92-9 The Game, as well as partner stations on the Hawks Radio Network with “Voice of the Hawks” Steve Holman calling the action. The complete Hawks local television schedule on FOX Sports Southeast will be released at a later date.

Atlanta will appear on national television 16 times, including four contests on TNT – Feb. 2nd at Houston, Feb. 13th at Portland, Mar. 13th at San Antonio and Apr. 6th vs. Boston, four times on ESPN – Jan. 13th vs. Boston, Jan. 18th at Detroit, Mar. 22nd at Washington and Apr. 12th at Indiana, and eight times on NBA TV – Nov. 8th at Cleveland, Nov. 22nd vs. New Orleans, Jan. 1st vs. San Antonio, Jan. 16th at New York, Mar. 24th at Milwaukee, Apr. 1st at Chicago, Apr. 7th at Cleveland and Apr. 9th vs. Cleveland.

Atlanta will face each Eastern Conference club four times – except for Indiana and Toronto (one home/two road), Boston and Detroit (two home/one road) – and every Western Conference opponent twice. The Hawks will play 20 of the 41 home games on weekends (eight Friday/six Saturday/six Sunday).

Notable home matchups include contests with the defending NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers (Friday, Mar. 3rd and Sunday, Apr. 9th), Golden State Warriors (Monday, Mar. 6th), Boston Celtics (Friday, Jan. 13th and Thursday, Apr. 6th), Indiana Pacers (Sunday, Mar. 5th), Houston Rockets (Saturday, Nov. 5th) and Los Angeles Clippers (Monday, Jan. 23rd).

Atlanta will play six-of-the-first-nine games at home. The Hawks’ longest homestand of the season is six straight (Wednesday, Mar. 1st through Friday, Mar. 10th), while the longest road trip is five-in-a-row (Wednesday, Nov. 23rd through Wednesday, Nov. 30th).

Atlanta finishes the first half of the schedule on Wednesday, Feb. 15th at the L.A. Clippers and returns after the break on Friday, Feb. 24th vs. Miami.

The Hawks will play 18 back-to-back sets, including two home/home back-to-backs eight home/road, four road/home and four road/road.
