What a game on Sunday afternoon at Philips Arena. Coming into the game on a two game winning streak, the Atlanta Hawks overcame a 26 point deficit to the Cleveland Cavaliers in overtime (126-125). The Hawks now stand at a record of (42-38) and the Cleveland Cavs stand at (51-29).

The Cleveland Cavs came out the gate on fire and lead for most of the game scoring 38 points in the first quarter. Kyrie Irving was the leading scorer for the Cavs scoring 45 points along with 9 assist. LeBron James was a force putting up a trill double with 32 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assist but he fouled out of the game in overtime. The Cavs scored 18 points in the fourth quarter while allowing 44 points to the Hawks and that changed the game.

The Atlanta Hawks gave fans at Philips Arena a show to remember in the fourth quarter. Hawks all-star Paul Millsap lead the way in the Hawks 26 point comeback scoring 22 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Tim Hardaway Jr. was aggressive on the offense side of the ball scoring 21 points on (7-15) shooting. Dwight Howard was effective in 23 minutes scoring 22 points. Off the bench, Kent Bazemore scored 13 points with 4 assist and Mike Muscala poured in 12 points.

The Hawks will look to close out their home regular season schedule on Tuesday night versus the Charlotte Hornets. The Hawks close out the season on Wednesday night in Indiana versus the Indiana Pacers. The NBA Playoffs begin Saturday.Stay tuned to HHS1987 for more NBA news.
