NBA: Dallas Mavericks vs. Atlanta Hawks (3-1-17) (Preview)

March 1, 2017 0

Tonight, the (32-26) Atlanta Hawks return home to Philips Arena to face the (24-35) Dallas Mavericks. The Hawks are com ing off of a big win in Boston on Monday night and they tip off a huge week of home games.

In Monday’s night win against the Celtics, Hawks star Dennis Schroder played one his best games of the season. Schroder controlled the tempo of the game scoring 21 points on (9-14) shooting with 5 assist. Hawks all-star Paul Millsap continues to be effective scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Dwight Howard set the table for the Hawks in Boston in the paint Monday night. Dwight was ejected from the game after picking up his second technical foul as he hung on the rim after a dunk but finished the game with 17 points and 12 rebounds in 27 minutes of work. The Hawks have won six straight games against the Dallas Mavericks and if they come out with the same energy they had on Monday night in Boston, the Hawks just may make it seven straight victories against Dallas.

The Dallas Mavericks are also coming off of a big win on Monday night. The Mavs defeated the Miami Heat (96-89) on Monday night and they hope to carry that momentum into tonight’s matchup agains the Hawks. Newly acquired big man Nerlens Noel has come off the bench and been effective for the Mavs. It will be interesting to see how he plays against Hawks big men Dwight Howard and Paul Millsap. Mavericks guard Seth Curry and Yogi Ferrell have played well and been scoring machines as of late for the Mavs. The Mavs are a young team with Harrison Barnes and Wesley Matthews also playing well. This could be a high scoring matchup.

The Dallas Mavericks vs. Atlanta Hawks matchup tips off at 7:30pm at Philips Arena.Stay tuned to HHS1987 for more NBA news. Follow @eldorado2452 on Twitter and Instagram for all your Atlanta Hawks, NBA and sports news.
