We now know what patch will be featured on Atlanta Hawks jersey for the next 5 years. Sharecare and the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club today announced a multi-year partnership in which the digital health company’s logo will appear on Hawks uniforms beginning in the 2017-18 season, and the two Atlanta-based organizations will launch the Sharecare Movement, aimed at making Atlanta one of the healthiest communities and Georgia one of the healthiest states in the country. The landmark agreement reflects the organizations’ shared vision to positively impact their community through technology, innovation and the promotion of healthy living and fitness.
According to the Gallup-Sharecare Well-Being Index, Atlanta ranks #83 out of 129 communities with Georgia ranking #29 out of 50 states. In order to empower each person to improve their health, and place Atlanta and Georgia in the top quartiles of those respective lists by 2020, beginning this October, Sharecare will offer Georgia residents special access to its new comprehensive digital platform that helps people easily take control of and manage all their health in one place. Founded by digital health pioneer Jeff Arnold and Dr. Mehmet Oz, Sharecare provides each person with an ultra-personalized way to connect to the information, tools and experts they need to live their healthiest, happiest and most productive life.
“Where you live has a direct impact on your health, and while Atlanta and Georgia certainly have areas ripe for improvement, we also enjoy some undeniable, foundational strengths – from being the nation’s health IT capital and home base for leading health organizations like the CDC, to one of the fastest growing technology hubs and economic centers in the world, to name a few,” said Arnold. “We believe there is no limit to the stakeholders we can assemble, and no substitute for a strong, supportive community – and by combining the forces of Sharecare, the Hawks and so many others in our city and state, the Sharecare Movement will help drive systemic positive change for Atlantans and Georgians, alike, that will be the example for others to follow.”

The Hawks and Sharecare plan to collaborate on major community initiatives aimed at improving the well-being and health of Atlantans, including pop-up health engagements, unique co-branded digital and social campaigns and content, and the introduction of wellness programs to give people an easier way to access care in a time when the pursuit of good health can be overwhelming and expensive. Inside the transformed Philips Arena, Sharecare will have high-impact branding with a new Sharecare section, where fans who actively participate in the movement can be rewarded with free seats at home games. Additionally, Sharecare and the Hawks will offer healthy food choices at the arena, and co-create ergonomic chairs to be used for the Hawks bench slated to launch in the 2018-2019 season.
Sharecare and the Hawks also are collaborating to onboard local organizations and employers as partners to foster powerful connection points across the community and extend the reach of the Sharecare Movement. Partner participation in the Sharecare Movement will take many forms, while being focused on providing incentives and rewards for those who exhibit improved health outcomes through the movement.
“The Sharecare Movement has the potential to impact so many lives in Atlanta and across the state of Georgia, and – especially with support from strategic partners, including employers, hospitals and community leaders – we will be in an ideal position to provide Hawks fans with the tools and resources they need to live their best lives, and overcome what’s impeded their progress in the past,” said Dr. Oz. “Further, when fans see Sharecare integrated into the fabric of the Hawks and right on their jerseys, they will know we did this for them. Whether we are rewarding people with tickets to games, highlighting their progress on the jumbotron or enabling employee rewards for healthy behavior, this initiative is about inspiring people to change their lives for the better.”
As part of the innovative partnership, Sharecare will become the presenting sponsor of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network and, with the Hawks, will create compelling content that will air on FOX Sports, the TV home of the franchise. In conjunction with the Sharecare mobile app and web platform, these radio and TV extensions provide additional ways to share valuable health and wellness information with Georgia residents on all platforms, and inspire them to participate in the Sharecare Movement.
Nike will become the NBA’s official uniform supplier and provide all uniform and apparel for the club beginning this season. The Sharecare logo will be prominently displayed on the left front shoulder strap of official Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club jerseys. Jersey sponsorships were approved by the NBA as part of a three-year pilot program in April 2016.
