A epic battle of the bigs took place on Saturday night in South Philadelphia with the hometown kid winning round 2.
After a war of words following Sixers big man Joel Embiid and Pistons big man Andre Drummond first matchup earlier in the season, Saturday’s matchup providing excitement and more.

The Philadelphia Sixers picked up a (108-103) victory at home Saturday night against Detroit. Joel Embiid not only managed to help Pistons big man Andre Drummond foul out of the game, Embiid also finished the night with 25 points and 10 rebounds. It was also a big man for Sixers swingman Robert Covington. Covington added 25 points in Saturday night’s victory. Sixers forward Dario Saric scored 17 points while Sixers rookie Ben Simmons scored just 5 points but also finished the night with 10 rebounds and 6 assist.

Andre Drummond was effective for his team but it wasn’t enough to pick up a win. Drummond finished the night with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assist. Tobias Harris lead the way for the Piston scoring 27 points and Reggie Jackson followed that up by scoring 25 points. The Pistons will look to bounce back on Monday night as they face the San Antonio Spurs.
