On Wednesday March 1st, the Atlanta Hawks moved on to a record of (34-26) after defeating the (24-36) Dallas Mavericks (100-95) kicking off their six game home stand.

For the Atlanta Hawks, Hawks all-star Paul Millsap finished the game with a near triple-double scoring 18 points with 8 rebounds and 10 assist. Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder finished the game with 17 points and 6 assist. Dwight Howard was key to the Hawks victory as well. Howard finished the game with 14 points and 10 rebounds in 32 minutes of action. The Hawks led the game for most of the night but the Mavericks made it a game late in the fourth quarter to at one point take a four point lead. Tim Hardaway Jr. hit a big three point shot late in the fourth to help the Hawks cut the Mavs lead to one point and the rest was history. Hardaway Jr. finished the night with 10 points. Newly acquired Hawks forward Ersan Ilyasova played his best game in a Hawks uniform so far scoring 18 points.

The Dallas Mavericks feature a young but extremely talented team. Mavs forward Harrsion Barnes was the high scorer for the Mavericks scoring 25 points on (9-19) shooting from the field. Mavericks future hall of famer Dirk Nowitzki finished the game with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Western conference rookie of the month Yogi Ferrell was effective scoring 11 points with 9 assist.
