NFL-Wildcard-Saturday--500x279 2017 NFL Wild Card Weekend (Titans vs. Chiefs) (Falcons vs. Rams) (Saturday) (Predictions)

The 2018 NFL Playoffs kickoff today with two Saturday “Wild Card Weekend” matchups. First today at 4:15 EST, the Tennessee Titans head to Kansas City to face the Kansas City Chiefs. Following the 4:15 EST game, at 8:15 EST, the Atlanta Falcons face the Los Angeles Rams in the first NFL postseason game in Los Angeles since 1994.

Titans vs. Chiefs:

In the first matchup of the game I expect the Chiefs to come on with a strong running back. Chiefs rookie running back Kareem Hunt has played well this season and now that it is win or go home, I expect Andy Reid to want to control the clock. Hunt will rush for over 150 yards with two touchdowns. With offseason trade rumors swirling around Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith, I expect Smith to perform well also. Smith will pass for over 240 yards with two touchdown passes.

The Titans have the ability to make this a very interesting game, I just think lack of playoff experience for some of the younger Titans players may be to much to over come. I expect Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota to pass for over 250 yards and rush for two touchdowns. In this matchup Im taking the Chiefs (31-23)

Falcons vs. Rams:

The second game of the two Saturday “Wild Card Weekend” matchups features two high powered offenses in the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Rams. The Falcons are looking to be the first team since the Buffalo Bills (1994) to reach the Super Bowl again after losing the previous year. The Rams in their first season back in Los Angeles are looking to make a statement.

I expect the Rams and running back Todd Gurley to have a big day. Gurley will rush for over 160 yards and will score three total touchdowns. Rams quarterback Jared Goff will also play big in his first postseason. Goff will pass for over 250 yards and two touchdown passes.

For the Falcons, I think the Rams defense will step up and surprise people. Matt Ryan will pass for over 250 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The Falcons running game won’t be as effective as it has been and that will be the difference in the game. I’m taking the Rams (35-24).
