Hawks-Chi--500x279 No Chi-Town Bull: Chicago Bulls vs. Atlanta Hawks (1-20-18) (Recap)

The Atlanta Hawks walked into Philips Arena on Saturday afternoon riding a two game winning with the hype and excitement of debuting the Hawks 1970’s throwback jerseys. The jerseys are certainly dope, the play of the Atlanta Hawks today, not so much. The Hawks suffered a tough loss to the Chicago Bulls (113-97).

The Hawks have played well all season long despite their losing record and over the past week we have seen a great deal of improvement from the team. I’m sure Hawks fans poured into Philips Arena for Saturday’s matinee game looking for the teams third win in a row. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

For the Hawks today, Dennis Schroder was the teams leading scorer finishing the game with 18 points on (7-17) shooting from the field with 5 assist. Off the bench, Hawks big man DeWayne Dedmon was effective moving the ball and scoring the ball. Dedmon finished the game with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assist. Kent Bazemore struggled from the field tonight finished with just 9 points. Hawks two way player Josh Magette was sharp tonight shooting (2-2) from three point land finishing with 8 points.

For the Chicago Bulls, this young team has several offensive weapons who showcased their talent today. Bulls big man Robin Lopez was on fire scoring 20 points shooting (9-13) from the field. Bulls rookie Lauri Markkanen put on a show going (8-16) finishing the night with 19 points. Off the bench for Chicago, swingman Bobby Portis finished with 14 points.

The Atlanta Hawks home stand continues on Monday as the Hawks welcome the Utah Jazz to town. Stay tuned to HHS1987.com. Follow @eldorado2452 on Twitter and Instagram for all your Atlanta Hawks, NBA and sports news.
