On to the next one.

The Atlanta Hawks battled down to the wire Monday night in the second game of their Los Angeles back to back but it wasn’t enough to walk away with the victory. Last night (Jan.8) the Atlanta Hawks lost to the L.A. Clippers (108-107) during a thriller at the Staples Center.

Although the Hawks didn’t leave with a win, there were several highlights for the Hawks in this game. Big man DeWayne Dedmon returned to the line up for the Hawks. In 20 minutes of action, Dedmon finished with 6 points and 3 rebounds. Despite getting in foul trouble early in the first half, Taurean Prince finished with a strong night for the Hawks. Prince finished with 20 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assist.

Hawks guard Malcolm Delaney was also effective for the Hawks on Monday night. Delaney helped the Hawks take the lead in the second half and his leadership on the floor was key. Delaney finished the night with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assist.

The player of the night was on the home team on Monday night and he wore number 23. Los Angeles Clippers star Lou Williams finished the night with 34 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assist. Williams leadership was key down the stretch helping to keep his team poised for the victory. Clippers big man DeAndre Jordan played big as well. Late in the fourth quarter as the Hawks fouled Jordan to force him to hit foul shots, Jordan hit four straight. With under ten seconds remaining in the game, Clippers forward/guard C.J. William sealed L.A’s win hitting a big three pout basket.

The Atlanta Hawks will have a chance to bounce back on the road on on Wednesday January 9th as they face the Denver Nuggets in Denver. Stay tuned to HHS1987.com. Follow @eldorado2452 on Twitter and Instagram for all your Atlanta Hawks, NBA and sports news.
