With his newfound role as a social activist, Philadelphia rapper, Meek Mill was immortalized in Houston this past weekend after the city declared Feb. 24th as “Meek Mill Day.” The decision was made due to Meek’s vocal and social advocacy for criminal justice reform. After his performance at Houston’s Revention Music Center, Meek made a stop at the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department to speak to the young men – sharing his own experiences, learning from his own mistakes as well as his successes.
“If you want to go to the penitentiary and live that life, do that, but if you want to be somebody, you don’t want to fall victim to that – because we’ve got millions of people who look like us that have don’t that already. Listen to the voice and make the right choices, at the right time.”
