The sky is limit for the Atlanta Hawks and what Hawks GM Travis Schlenk are creating in the city of Atlanta! On Thursday night, the 2019 NBA Draft took place in Brooklyn and the Hawks made a splash.

The Atlanta Hawks drafted Duke forward Cam Reddish 10th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, also selecting Texas center Jaxson Hayes (8th overall) and Brazilian guard Marcos Louzada Silva (35th overall).

The 6’8 Reddish averaged 13.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 36 appearances (35 starts) as a freshman for the Blue Devils in 2018-19. The Norristown, Pa. native scored in double figures on 23 occasions, including eight 20-point games, and led Duke with a .772 FT%. He was an honorable mention All-ACC selection, finishing ninth in the conference in steals per game. He earned a bronze medal at the 2017 FIBA U19 Men’s Basketball World Cup as a member of Team USA, averaging 10.7 points and 4.3 rebounds in seven contests.

“Cam’s a guy we’ve watched for years, all the way back through youth basketball coming up,” said Hawks General Manager and Head of Basketball Operations Travis Schlenk. “Cam’s one of those guys who’s extremely versatile. You’ve heard us talk about guys who can dribble, pass and shoot, he fits that bill. He’s also very good defensively. He’s got great length, he’s a good athlete, so we’re very excited about him.”

Hayes, a 6’11 early-entry candidate, averaged 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.2 blocks (.728 FG%, .740 FT%) in 32 games (21 starts) for the Longhorns. Louzada Silva, a 6’6 guard from Brazil, averaged 10.6 points on .496 FG%, .427 3FG% and .735 FT% in 48 games (13 starts) for Franca.
