Nicki Minaj has re-released her sophomore album with 7 new tracks and a 90-minute DVD. The re-release titled ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded The Re-Up’ has taken a more rap direction compared to the previous ‘Roman Reloaded’ album which was half dance. When asked why she put out the re-release she comments: “I knew that there was going to be a lot of time before the third album and I couldn’t let the world have the representation that was out there of me right now.”
Upon the confusion about all her albums being re-releases and titled ‘Pink Friday’, Minaj explains on BET’s 106&Park: “Pink Friday is MY brand and all my albums will start with ‘Pink Friday’. No one thought [Lil Wayne's] Carter 2, 3 and 4 were re-releases of the first Carter album”. She continues, “Jay-Z already done ‘The Blue Print’…I’m making The Pink Print. I’m doing my own thing for the ladies”.
