Some will say Ar-Ab because he has the street buzz, he’s entertaining on the DVDs and his videos get more views then a lot of dudes that will get mentioned in the comments below. Others will say Rediroc of Ape Gang, Black Deniro of Rellik Records, and then many will say its not a gangster rapper and could be Chill Moody, Dosage (who tours with Lupe Fiasco), Asaad, OCD, and a plenty others come to mind.
Either way the eyes are on the city and with 50 Cent & DJ Drama talking about Philly rappers, Trump getting signed, the city is getting some shine. I hope you artists are getting your branding, image, and promo ideas together because the time is here and Im sure another big label is going to look at the city for a new artist.

I can’t say who is next to get signed from Philly as there are many talents I’ve had the pleasure of becoming familiar with…but here is who I think is more likely to get signed next (ommitting Chill Moody b/c I doubt anyone is arguing against the fact that he’s considered “up next”, lol – myself included)
With that said…the short list includes:
Ground Up – I’m geniunely dissapointed that these guys names aren’t mentioned more often when these types of discussions come up. The local act SOLD OUT the TLA 3/24 and has the music to match
I-Know Brasco – show wise, he’s top notch. I’ve seen him perform a multitude of times, and am still entertained. personally, his work ethic mirrors that of his OG – Tone Trump.
Jay Griff – he was on “I’m Wit It” with Black Deniro. I can’t speak to his much material he has released (idk) but the studio session I sat in on with him changed my view on how great music is made and what great music sounds like. point being – dude makes BANGERS.
