Plaxico Burress Back In Black And Yellow; Will Play Sunday

Plaxico Burress

He’s back where it all started. Yesterday following what Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin called ” a great workout” the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed 35 year old wide receiver Plaxico Burress.

Burress spent last season with Mark Sanchez and the New York Jets following serving nearly two years in prison for illegal possession of a firearm in a New York City nightclub. As a Jet Burress caught 45 passes of which eight were touchdowns but after getting cut by New York, Burress was waiting for the phone to ring again.

Coming out of Michigan StateĀ Burress was drafted by the Steelers with the eighth overall pick in the 2000 NFL draft and he spent his first five seasons with Pittsburgh. With injuries to wide receiversĀ Antonio Brown (sprained ankle) and Jerricho Cotchery and with the recent struggles of wide reciver Mike Wallace, Burress should see immediate playing time. The Steelers play the Cleveland Browns Sunday.
