The Steve Nash lottery is over. After reports of him heading to Toronto, New York or even Miami, former Phoenix Suns MVP point guard Steve Nash is a Laker.

The Suns have agreed to deal the 38 year old to Los Angeles in a sign and trade in which Steve Nash would receive a three year $25 Million deal and the Suns who are looking to get younger and rebuild will receive  four draft picks. First rounders in 2013 and 2015 and second rounders in 2013 and 2014.

Nash told ESPN.com. “I approached them and asked if they would be willing to do a sign and trade deal with L.A. because it is very important to me to stay near my children and family.

Nash is also rumored to be trying to  convince longtime teammate Grant Hill, one of his closest friends in the game, to join him with the Lakers. Hill recently took a  trip to Germany to undergo the same platelet-enrichment treatment on his knee that Bryant credited for his rejuvenated knee last season.

Kobe and Steve Nash in the Lakers backcourt could be nasty. Nash is by far the best point guard Kobe may have ever has as a teammate. (Gary Payton was at the end of his road.) The NBA is shaping out to possibly have one of its greatest seasons ever in the 2012-2013. This move makes a L.A. a immediate contender in the west and maybe Kobe’s sixth ring.

Does Steve Nash make the Lakers the best team in the West????
