R.I.C.O. G is a Hip-Hop artist born and raised in Oakland, CA, who decided to relocate to New York City after college in order to pursue Hip-Hop in its birthplace. Rico recalls writing poetry as early as the fourth grade, and he recorded his first track at the age of thirteen with his older brother, but athletic potential led him toward courts and fields rather than toward studios and stages. His life as a athlete and a fan of sports in addition to his individual journey and perspective makes up his lyrical content.
Rico’s music is inspired by many different artists, but some include Kanye West & G.O.O.D. Music, Jay-Z, Andre 3000, Tupac, Notorious B.I.G., Pharrell, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar. He still admits to being open minded and enjoying all artists and all genres, and his new music will be a clean mesh of all the aforementioned artistry that inspires his passion.
