Bloc Party’s lead vocalist Kele Okereke has released a new joint featuring songstress Boggie Gordon titled “Down Boy” and while that alone is good news what makes their collaboration even more epic is the fact that it is the first record ever released using 3D printing technology. The good people at Bacardi made the entire process possible through their Bacardi Beginnings initiative, which brings new and established artists together to create music. Bacardi opened a pop-up shop in London over the weekend and sold the 3D printed record, marking the first time an original song has ever been released in such a format. Sales of the record will go towards the Nordoff Robbins charity foundation which helps troubled adults across Britian. Listen to the track below and watch how a 12 inch record is made using a 3D printer above.
