In a scathing and unapologetic exclusive interview with HipHopSince1987, Tony DeYoung pulls no punches in his critique of the major label system and the hip-hop establishment.
“I’m about to drop a massive diss track on these major labels and the world,” DeYoung declares, setting the tone for a fiery and unflinching conversation.
Addressing recent controversies, Tony DeYoung clarifies, “I never said TheRealDJSilk was a popular producer. That’s a false narrative perpetuated by those trying to discredit me.”
Tony DeYoung reserves his harshest criticism for major labels, accusing them of inflating YouTube views and traffic. “It’s the biggest bunch of BS I ever heard,” he asserts. “They faked all their views and inflated all their traffic. These major labels didn’t do a damn thing.”
In a blistering attack on the personal character of major label executives, Tony DeYoung alleges, “I heard you major label people like to abandon your kids. You’re the biggest piece of trash I ever met in my life.”
Tony DeYoung also touches on his own personal journey, explaining that he stepped back from the music industry to focus on his family. “I wanted to get back in my kids’ lives, unlike you,” he says, directing his comments at major label executives.
As Tony DeYoung prepares to unleash his diss track, he’s clear about his intentions: “I’m coming for the major labels and the hip-hop establishment. They better be ready.”
