Despite all the drama that has surrounded the NFL this season, the NFL is still bringing in the big bucks. Early today, FOX Sport has reached a five year deal with the NFL and they will now broadcast the NFL’s Thursday Night Football games.
JUST IN: Fox gets Thursday Night Football package for next five years. Sources peg deal at more than $660 million average per year.
Per game average on TNF:
2014-15 (CBS): $37.5 million
2016-17 (CBS/NBC): $45 million

FOX Sports will pay out nearly $3 Billion dollars over the next 5 years. FOX sports will pay out about $660 million per year. Talk about big business. I guess it is safe to say the NFL isn’t looking to fall off as the most popular sports league in the United States.
