Atlanta recording artist, A’NAMII, dropped her first visual titled “Settle”. A’NAMII wrote the song to share her story and to empower listeners, letting them know that they shouldn’t settle for anything.
The song’s creative process is one A’NAMII calls “unorthodox”and a collaborative experience. Hubris Sound partnered with Empire for ANAMII’s release of “Settle”. This song came together with contributions from A’NAMII, co-written with GoTo and AIM, engineering and mixing by wAv, and music production by DeJour Thomas.
Through writing music on and off the past 6 years, A’NAMII’s voice has matured, she has found her niche, and her music has become more personal and vulnerable as a result. Fans can expect new music and exciting opportunities for the artist in the future, as well as the “Settle” music video.
“I was in a space where I was settling all around in life so I wanted to write a song about not settling… I feel like that’s a theme that pretty much anyone can relate to.” states A’NAMII.
The stunning music video, directed by Mark Hidalgo, depicts the artist introducing her boyfriend to a group of friends. After interacting with two male friends in front of him, the boyfriend becomes obviously jealous and the video cuts to a clip of the couple arguing. Having been in a real toxic relationship before, A’NAMII wanted this music video to visually convey the importance of not settling for this type of relationship, and she did not disappoint.
