Talk about one for the ages. Last night a division 3 basketball program took the sporting world by storm.

Grinnell College’s sophomore guard Jack Taylor smashed the NCAA record books scoring 138 points against Faith Baptist Bible shooting over 70 three point fields goals. Yes 70. Taylor overall was 52-108 from the field and 27-71 from three point land. Entering that game no D-1 team collective has shot over 100 times. Not a entire team. Taylor put the rock up 108 times accounting for 77 percent of his teams scoring.

Faith Baptist Bible’s David Larson also put up heavy numbers scoring 70 points going 34-for-44 but when someone drops almost double that 70 points appears to be a small feat. Bevo Francis of Rio Grande previously held the NCAA scoring record with 113 points against Hillsdale in 1954. Grinnell College’s previous record was 89 set by Griffin Lentsch last Nov. 19 against Principia.
