In what is beginning to look like disarray in Philadelphia, Eagles head coach Andy Reid has just fired former Eagles defensive coordinator Juan Castillo.

This comes just one day after coach Andy Reid had said Juan Castillo would continue to make the defensive play calls for the team but that everything about the Eagles would be evaluated. Castillo, a former offensive line coach has been in over his head since taking the defensive job last season. The Eagles were 8-8 last season after starting 4-8 and this year after starting 3-1 are currently 3-3 heading into a bye week.

After a 10 point lead was lost in the fourth quarter last week against the Detroit Lions it appears enough was enough. The Eagles currently have the 13th ranked defense in points per game and are 30th in the NFL with team sacks at 7. Clay Mathews and J.J. Watt have more than 5 sacks a piece themselves so far this season.

The Eagles will face the Atlanta Falcons week 8 coming off the bye. Former defensive backs coach Todd Bowles will replace Castillo as the defensive coordinator.
