452947447 NFL Wildcard Weekend: San Diego Chargers vs. Cincinnati Bengals (Predictions)

Today’s NFL Wildcard Weekend starts with the (9-7) San Diego Chargers marching into a cold and windy Paul Brown Stadium to face the (11-5) Cincinnati Bengals.

I was 0-2 with my picks yesterday as the Eagles and Chiefs both lost so maybe today will be a better day. The Bengals and Chargers met this year in early December and the Bengals came away with the win (17-10). I think today will be much of the same. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has been efficient this year but he is also known to be a bit of a wild card. He’s normally on or off with his quarterback play but being home should shape up to be a great advantage for Dalton and his Bengals offense. The Bengals also lineup one of the best defenses in the NFL and they are looking to get Cincinnati fans their first playoff victory in over 20 years.

The San Diego Chargers crept into the playoff last week after a lot of things fell their way. Phillip Rivers has been at the top of his game this year tossing 32 touchdown passes with just and he is seeking to capture his first Super Bowl. Unfortunately for Chargers fans, I don’t think the Chargers will make it past this game. Look for A.J. Green to show the world why he is one of the NFL’s best wide receiver and for the Bengals defense to cause 2 turnovers. The buck stops here for San Diego. Rivers and Gates will hook up for over 8 receptions and a touchdown but the Chargers offense won’t be able to score enough to get the win.

Bengals 31  Chargers 20
