It’s Friday, and beside the additional sleep and fun that the weekends provide, it also means new movies are hitting the big screen. Today, Nickelodeon Film’s latest movie “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows” has hit the big screens and I believe new and old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans will be pleased.

In brief, Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to theaters this summer to battle bigger, badder villains, alongside April O’Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). After supervillain Shredder (Brian Tee) escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly), to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.

I saw “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows” on Thursday, May 26, 2016 here in Atlanta during a private screening hosted by Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks and her son Ayden with my young year old daughter and we both enjoyed the film. “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows” is rated PG-13 but in my opinion it was suitable for children 4 and older (my daughter is 5 and was able to comprehend the plot & humor). We watch the film in 3D and visually there were several dope graphics that kept us both on the age of our seats. Not only did the Turtles give us action and comedy, their also had to deal with and overcome some common issues teenaged of today can relate to.

As a 80’s baby, I’ve been a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles brand since the days of my youth and I appreciated how the film stayed true to the series storyline with Ooze, Bebop & Rocksteady and Casey Jones. I feel as if Nickelodeon also followed up the first “TMNT” film well with “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows” leaving room for a third chapter of the movie once this film does well.

Overall, I enjoyed the film and I believe most Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans of all ages will too. Watch a few previews from “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows” and checkout my official “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows” movie rating below.
