TNF-Week-3-500x279 TNF: Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers (Week 3 Predictions)

Week 3 of the 2017 NFL Season kicks off tonight with the (1-1) Los Angeles Rams heading to Levi Stadium in Santa Clara to face the (0-2) San Francisco 49ers.

The Thursday night football games so far this season haven’t been very entertaining and although I’m hoping that changes tonight, I may be wishing on a star. Week 3’s Thursday night NFL matchup between the Rams and 49ers will be a California battle on the field with two teams led by rookie head coaches. The Rams with rookie head coach Sean McVay and the 49ers with rookie head coach Kyle Shanahan.

From the offensive view, this game doesn’t have many well known names but there are several good players on both sides of the ball. The Rams young groups of Jared Goff, Todd Gurley and Sammy Watkins have the potential to be a great offense in a few years if Rams head coach Sean McVay can get the best out of his young team. The 49ers have a great young defense with 4 first round picks on their defensive line and linebacker crew, so with that said something must give tonight.

Despite many believing this won’t be a good game, I think we will be surprised. Look for Rams quarterback Jared Goff to toss two touchdown passes and pass for over 275 yards on the night. Sammy Watkins will have his best game in a Rams jersey. Watkins will account for 95 receiving yards and one touchdown. Rams running back Todd Gurley will be productive tonight as well. Look for Gurley to rush for over 110 yards and a touchdown.

For the 49ers, outside of running back Carlos Hyde, the 49ers don’t have many weapons on the offensive side of the ball. Look for 49ers quarterback Brian Hoyer to pass for over 200 yards and to lead the 49ers on their first touchdown drive of the year. That’s right, the 49ers have yet to reach the end zone. Carlos Hyde will account for 170 total yards from scrimmage with two touchdowns. Hyde will continue to carry the load for the niners but it wouldn’t be enough to pick up the 49ers first win of the year.

L.A. Rams 24  49ers 17 (Fantasy Sleepers: Sammy Watkins (LAR), Carlos Hyde (SF 49ers))
