Bun B isn’t letting the death of friend and second half of UGK, Pimp C, slow his grind. According to Billboard, the emcee has set an April 29 release day for II Trill, the follow up to 2005’s Trill.
The album, which is to be released on Rap-A-Lot/Asylum is led by the single “That’s Gangsta” featuring Sean Kingston, produced by JR Rotem.
Featured on the album are an impressive array of emcees: Pimp C, Lupe Fiasco, Lil’ Wayne, David Banner, Rick Ross, Mya, Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, Webbie, Mike Jones, 8 Ball and MJG, Z-Ro, Junior Reid and Expensive Taste ( Paul Wall, Travis Barker and Skinhead Rob ).
Production on the album will be handled by Mr. Lee, Scott Storch, Jazze Pha, Bigg Tyme, Black Out Movement, DJ Khalil and Clinton Sparks.
Bun B’s last outing, Trill , reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip Hop albums, and has sold 563,000 copies in the United States to date. The album was followed by UGK’s Underground Kingz, which debuted last summer at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
