You may remember the story reported a couple weeks ago here that explained Polow Da Don’s intentional leak of the track he produced for Usher’s new album called “Love In This Club,” featuring Young Jeezy.
Though “Love In This Club” was never planned to be released as the first single, the sheer force of its reception on radio stations and iTunes alone changed that, with it currently slaying the competition on Billboard’s Hot 100 as the #1 song in the country. From last week, “Love In This Club” moved fifty spots to claim the #1 spot, making it the third largest increase in Billboard Hot 100 history. Because of its quick dominance, Usher is jumping on the success of it with a music video to come out soon.
Originally, Young Jeezy was not scheduled to be on “Love In This Club,” as reported by MTV. It took him some convincing Polow to get a verse on the track, as Polow wasn’t too sure Usher would be okay with the collaboration. Surprisingly, it worked out well for both sides. “I played the version that night at [Jermaine Dupri’s] club, and Usher went crazy. That was the first time he heard it.”
Planning ahead, Usher is working for a Summer release date, where his record label LaFace/Zomba has claimed June as the expected month for Here I Stand to drop.
