When asked to describe the players that have been brought in and the group that is being assembled, Vince Young cracked a wide smile and simply responded: “Dream Team.”
“From Nnamdi [Asomugha] to [Dominique Rodgers-] Cromartie, to Jason [Babin] to myself,“ Young continued, “I know they are going to do some more things…It’s just beautiful to see where we’re trying to go.”
The desired destination, of course, is Indianapolis, to stake claim to the first Super Bowl championship in the team’s history. General manager Howie Roseman noted that the goal remains the same each season, but there is no mistaking the sense of immediacy surrounding the organization in this moment.
President Joe Banner spoke as part of a parade to the podium Saturday that included Babin, Young and Rodgers-Cromartie (Asomugha’s turn will likely come Sunday), and was asked about Young’s description of the team he was putting together.
“It’s a scary term,” said Banner, “ but…somebody wrote the words ‘The Eagles are all in,’ and that’s how we look at it. We’re doing anything and everything we can, we’re being aggressive about it, and the expectations are high.”
Along with the obvious talent, Banner believes he has gathered players “that really, really want to be here and really want to win. And they are not afraid of a goal as high as, we must win a Super Bowl to feel satisfied with the season.”
