In a time where players no longer chose loyalty over the dollar dollar bill, MLB megastar Albert Pujols has just added his name to the long list of athletics who will be criticized for many years to come.
The 2001 Rookie of the year, 2011 MLB champ and well loved slugger with the .328 batting average and 445 home runs has taken his talent to southern California after signing a 10 year $250 million deal. WOW.
The 31 year old first baseman is a three time MVP and was highly scouted by the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals but the Angels won the Pujols lottery.
Many people may disagree with Pujols’ signing and figures but the fact of the matter is the guy is a machine. In his 11 year career the 2011 was his first season with under 100 RBI as he finished with 99. There may also be many fans who will hate the fact Pujols left a smaller market in St.Louis and is headed to Hollywood but the Cardinals dug their own grave not offering enough money.
Pujols wasn’t the Angels only big signing today they also signed former Texas Rangers pitching stud C.J. Wilson who was 16-7 in the 2011 season to a 5 year $77.5 million deal. The AL West just got a little wild.
