Dwight Grant, otherwise known as rapper Beanie Sigel, was arrested overnight following a traffic stop on I-95 in Tinicum Township, police said Wednesday.
Prescription pills, codeine syrup, marijuana and several thousand dollars in cash were found on Sigel and the driver of the car, Gerald Andrews, according to police. A gun was found in the center console. Andrews was also arrested.
Police initiated the stop after they observed the car, a Ford Fusion, swerving out of a lane. While searching Andrews, police found a small amount of marijuana on his person.
The passenger, Sigel, was found to have several prescription pills wrapped in plastic bags located in a cigarette box along with a bottle of codeine syrup, police said. The label on the bottle was scratched off.
Both men are convicted felons and are not permitted to possess a firearm, authorities said. They were transported to a Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Media to be processed and arraigned.
