The Philadelphia Eagles are now on the longest losing streak in Andy Reid’s time as head coach, eight straight losses. Coming off of a 38-33 loss to the division rival Dallas Cowboys the Eagles have made two huge moves to finish out the season. Nick Foles will be the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season and Andy Reid has dismissed defensive live coach Jim Washburn.
The (3-9) Eagles have made several questionable moves on the defensive side of the ball. Reid fired defensive coordinator Juan Castillo on October. 16 and defensive backs coach Todd Bowles replaced him. Last week the Eagles released defensive end Jason Babin who lead the birds in sacks last season with 18 but only had 5.5 so far this season.
The Eagles have also named rookie quarterback Nick Foles the starter for the remainder of the season meaning we may have seen the last of Mike Vick as a Philadelphia Eagle. Foles has been the starter since Michael Vick was knocked out of the home game against the Cowboys three weeks ago. Foles was 22-of-34 for 251 yards with one touchdown pass last night and has a passer rating of 73 with 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions with a total of 793 yards passing for the year.
It’s still unknown if Reid will be the Eagles head coach next year but the Eagles are certainly cleaning house.
The Eagles face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers week 14 in Tampa.
