The Daniel E. Rumph II Foundation will be hosting its 7th Annual Rumph Classic Basketball Tournament Aug 9th – 13th. This year’s tournament will again be one of the best basketball events in the city this year with Philadelphia best players coming out to participate. Come out to support our cause and help us “SAVE THE NEXT BRIGHT STAR”.
$5.00 ADMISSION will be charged upon entrance to games held at Arcadia University

Our mission is to SAVE YOUNG LIVES by:
- Raising awareness concerning Sudden Cardiac Arrest
- Providing screenings for Hypertrophy Cardiomyopathy in order to prevent Sudden Cardiac Arrest
- Providing Automated External Defibrillators (AED) and CPR Trainings to Tri-Statearea recreation centers
We currently:
- Conducts FREE CPR Trainings – bi-monthly at Philadelphia area recreation centers.
- Advocates getting screenings included in student-athletes pre-participation physicals.
- Provides FREE screenings to all young athletes that request one.
- Advocates legislation to mandate placement of AEDs in all government buildings and recreation centers.
- Has placed Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in many community centers
- Provides an $500 Annual Scholarship Award
- Conducts social drives that benefit the families and children that surround the Daniel E. Rumph
- Recreation Center community.
- Conducts educational programming
You can help fight for this cause too! The Daniel Rumph Foundation would like to offer you the opportunity to help support the RUMPH CLASSIC 7th annual “Save the Next Bright Star” Tournament and Community BBQ.
YOUR donations will help ensure Philadelphia Recreational Centers are equipped with an AED. Staff receives extensive training on its use and maintenance. Staff also receives CPR Certification training.
Our tournament is held in honor of Danny as a tribute to the game he and so many others love. We feel that all of your support is a direct reflection of the kind of person Danny was and the amount of respect that others players still have for him.
