The look on Matt Barkley‘s face just said it all.
In what was a dog fight in a huge PAC 12 battle the #21 Stanford Cardinals have just upset #2 USC Trojans 21-14 shocking the college football world.
Lane Kiffin’s troops may have just kissed their national championship hopes goodbye and only putting up 14 points being sacked 6 times and throwing 2 interceptions won’t help Matt Barkley’s heisman hopes.
Tonight’s victory marks the fourth straight win against the Trojans and keeps the Cardinals unbeaten in September since 2008 and Matt Barkley is 0-4 against them. Future NFL first round WR prospects Marqise Lee and Robert Woods were fairly quiet thanks to motivated Stanford defense.
Many college football experts listed today’s game as a MUST win for Barkley and USC if they wanted to remain in the National Championship debate. Tonight’s loss and rank changing many change all that. It will certainly be a silent trip back to campus for the Trojans.
