Thursday evening, the NBA released their full schedule for it’s 2012-2013 season. Tip-Off is scheduled for Tuesday, October 30 and features two marque match-ups on TNT. Game 1 features the Miami Heat as the take on their arched-rival, the Boston Celtics. This marks Ray Allen’s first game against his former team and LeBron’s first ring as the Heat will hold their ring ceremony and raise their second championship banner. In game two of the double-header, the new-look Dallas Mavericks face the Los Angeles Lakers, as Dirk Nowitzki and best friend Steve Nash meet once again. This upcoming season marks Kobe Bryant’s 17th, but this will be the first time in which he plays with a play making point guard in Nash. Game 2 in my opinion has more at stake than game 1 because both Dallas and Los Angeles had major roster changes and are going to try to make a statement in this game setting the tone for the rest of the regular season.
Two days later on Thursday, the NBA’s version of the ‘Subway Series’ begins as the Brooklyn Nets will have their inaugural home game at Barclays Center against new crosstown rival, the New York Knicks.
Lastly, in a first this year, the ESPN Networks get exclusive coverage on Christmas as we get 5 back-to-back games headlined by an NBA Finals rematch game with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Miami Heat.
