Former Ohio State Buckeye and the number one pick of the Portland Trailblazers in the 2007 draft Greg Oden has decided to play for the world champion Miami Heat next season join his fellow Ohio native Lebron James. Oden is coming off his third micro fracture knee surgery back in early 2012 and Oden has played a NBA game in nearly 4 years having last played on December 5, 2009.
The Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs were all set to be front runners in signing Oden but New Orleans, Cleveland, Memphis, Sacramento,Atlanta and Boston all showed much interest in the 7 foot, 275 pound center. If Oden can stay healthy the Miami Heat should be favorites to three-peat this 2013-14 season.
