The series “2x’s the Cool” was created by Keith Johnson and Herman Wrice. The two young West Philadelphia natives created the show because they felt the young black male of the 21st century was often misrepresented in the entertainment industry. Fed up with societies take on “urban entertainment”, they chose to take matters into their own hands. Most Tv shows portrayed young black men either as rappers, basketball players, drug addicts, or drug dealers, which is far from true. The truth is their skills and talents expand far across the board of the work force, serving in Blue collar and white collar jobs alike. Therefore, it is impractical for their image to be portrayed with so little social and economical diversity. Their main goal is to illustrate that your success and your goals do not have to be limited by societies idea of the “urban entertainment” lifestyle.”2x’s The Cool” takes the great aspects from shows such as “In loving Color”, “Martin”, and the ” Fresh Prince”, all great african american comedic shows that are not around for the generations of today. Along with entertaining they want to educate and inspire through laughter while being true to their roots. So stay tuned as these up and coming comedians entertain you, and bring back what they feel the entertainment industry has been missing.
