Fabolous stops by Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning show to chat with the guys. He talks about his legacy, and overall impact to the game. He talks never being desperate, never been stale, never look broke and more.
Fabolous even details people take him for granted. He mentioned that Hov opened the door for Brooklyn, and used the someone turned on the light in the room. He talked about him and Hov have a cool relationship these days. He mentioned back in the 90’s, it wasn’t the same vibe because every artist was more to themselves. Nowadays, Hov will work a room, and greet everyone in the room. He believed Hov’s previous attitude was a New York thing.
He even recalls being a teenage when he first met Biggie. This was way before he started working with DJ Clue, and when he was known as Fabolous Sport. He said Biggie would call him “Sport”. He felt so appreciative getting acknowledged by someone as popular as Biggie at that time. He says he tries to congratulate younger artists on the come up these days. Ebro mentioned that some artists feel threatened about the newer artists that’s why some vets don’t reach out. Fab replied “some young cats say your suppose to salute, Im on, Im doing my thing”.
Fabulous talks the difference between an album and a mixtape. He says no matter the different label the viewers give it, he goes into both wanting to create a great body of work. The Young O.G. Project is dropping on December 25th. Checkout the track list and artwork for the project here.
